Istanbul (week 5 writing assignment)

What interested me about these pictures when i took them was obviously 1) its the blue mosque in Istanbul 2) the ceilings are absolutely incredible and the fact that they have tons of lights hanging by ropes from the ceilings. My compositions help the viewer see what interested me by having the lights and the ceilings be the main focal points of all of the compositions.

week 4 writing assignment

Since im making this up i dont have a monograph to choose a picture from so i chose one of my favorite pictures by one of my favorite landscape photographers. This photo is absolutely beautiful to me, the color and the fog are absolutely stunning. The technical skill is obviously there because it is very well exposed and the composition is also beautiful. The subject wouldn't normally be very interesting but being that its at sunrise and there is fog blowing through the field it is very fascinating and intriguing. Overall i think this picture has everything that it needs to be an amazing picture.

portrait from block

writing assignment

1. Street photos

Most of my portraits were posed but usually i don't mind getting close to people when i take their picture, it doesn't bother me at all if people notice.

3/4. Environmental Portraits

Since most of my subject were my friends they weren't very uncomfortable, a lot of them put on serious faces for the camera and i believe eye contact with the camera is what real conveys intimacy. I also brought external lighting so that i could control every aspect of my photos.

5. Focus on facial expression

i feel like when people look into the camera it make you feel a lot closer with the subject however i believe that a portrait where someone isn't looking can be very powerful and capture amazing emotion.

6. After you are done

Im pretty outgoing so it isnt very hard for me to make people comfortable im good at making people laugh and just talking with them.
